National Whole Vehicle Type Approval granted for the FreedomChair GT01
We are pleased to announce that the National Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ABE) under Section 20 StVZO has been successfully granted for the FreedomChair GT01 electric wheelchair, manufactured by Help-24 GmbH in Vienna.
The FreedomChair GT01 has a top speed of 12 km/h and is described by the manufacturer as the fastest foldable electric wheelchair on the market. Help-24 GmbH has introduced the model to the German market.
The required tests and technical assessments were carried out in Aachen by Stefano Mastrogiovanni, together with our partner laboratory fka GmbH and ALEE’s authorised signatory Jörn Lützow.
The test programme included, among other things:
🚗 Intensive braking and steering tests
⛰️ Verification of the parking brake performance on an 18% gradient
💡 Installation checks of the lighting and audible warning devices
This project demonstrates that even compact electric wheelchairs require a structured approval process, clearly defined test conditions and close cooperation between the manufacturer, Technical Service and testing laboratory.
