Last month, Stefano Mastrogiovanni conducted a training course on approval-relevant requirements (ARR) at our partner MAGNA Powertrain / Engineering Center Steyr GmbH & Co KG in Steyr.
For authorised signatories within a Technical Service, participation in a ARR training course is a mandatory prerequisite and an important element in ensuring a consistent understanding of the regulatory framework, responsibilities and requirements associated with testing and type approval activities.
The training covered, among other topics:
– UN Regulations under the UNECE framework
– the European type approval frameworks Regulation (EU) 2018/858, Regulation (EU) No 167/2013 and Regulation (EU) No 168/2013
the new Regulation (EU) 2025/14 for non-road mobile machinery
– national approval requirements under the German StVZO
– responsibilities of the Technical Service and its authorised signatories
– documentation, testing and approval processes and the interaction between manufacturer, Technical Service and type approval authority
We are particularly pleased that the equivalence of the ALEE ARR training with the KBA’s own ARR training has been confirmed by the German type approval authority (KBA).
This enables us to qualify our authorised signatories directly within the ALEE network while maintaining a consistent level of regulatory knowledge across our Technical Service.
