Supporting manufacturers through challenging type approval projects is at the heart of ALEE’s mission.
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Initial Assessment for Atlas4x4, a manufacturer of lightweight expedition vehicles based on Unimog platforms.
The on-site audit was conducted by Stefano Mastrogiovanni on June 27, 2025, on behalf of GCS TEST EOOD. However, before the Initial Assessment could be finalized, it was necessary to clarify whether the German Type Approval Authority (KBA) would grant a type approval under UN ECE Regulation No. 58 for the vehicle concept concerned.
Following an extensive technical and regulatory evaluation, the KBA positively concluded the Initial Assessment on May 20, 2026.
The assessment was carried out in cooperation with GCS TEST EOOD, a KBA-designated Technical Service of Category C.
An Initial Assessment verifies that a manufacturer is capable of consistently producing compliant products and maintaining effective Conformity of Production (CoP) procedures throughout the lifecycle of the approval.
Congratulations to Michael and Tine Dennig and the entire Atlas4x4 team on reaching this important milestone. We appreciate the excellent cooperation throughout the project and wish Atlas4x4 continued success with its innovative expedition vehicles.
