Steering System Testing according to UN ECE Regulation No. 79 🚐🧭
As part of its activities as a KBA-designated Technical Service, ALEE has successfully conducted steering system testing according to UN ECE Regulation No. 79 for Xtremobility Germany GmbH.
The tests were performed on the modified vehicle “Apollo”, based on a Ford Transit with all-wheel drive and increased ride height.
The steering system tests were carried out by fka GmbH in Aachen, acting as an integral part of the ALEE Technical Service, and covered all relevant requirements of UN ECE R79, including:
– Verification of steering functionality and performance
– Assessment of steering effort and response
– Evaluation of steering behavior under modified vehicle conditions
– Assessment of steering control forces with intact and failed power assistance
– Compliance checks for altered axle, suspension and driveline configurations
The tests were performed and signed by Jörn Lützow, authorized signatory of ALEE, under the responsibility of the designated Technical Service.
