Mechanical coupling devices – regulatory requirements in focus

We’re pleased to share that our Managing Director, Stefano Mastrogiovanni, has once again contributed to the renowned magazine Fahrzeug+Karosserie.

The latest article in the December 2024 issue focuses on type-approval requirements for mechanical coupling devices under UN ECE Regulation No. 55 – as well as the manufacturer’s responsibilities for chassis and frame design in national and multi-stage approval processes.

💡 From tow balls to drawbar eyes: coupling devices are critical safety components in vehicle construction and require extensive testing to meet both international and national approval standards.

At ALEE, we’re committed to supporting manufacturers and converters with expert guidance and reliable type-approval services.

🔧 Coming soon: mechanical coupling device testing in cooperation with Brunel Car Synergies – expanding our scope to offer even more complete homologation support.

📩 If you’re involved in vehicle development or modifications and have questions about approval procedures: don’t hesitate to reach out!
