Attention Heavy Vehicle Industry Professionals!
With just two months remaining until July 7, 2024 (deadline B), the deadline specified in Regulation (EU) 2019/2144, also known as General Safety Regulation II, is fast approaching. It’s important to note that these regulations have been mandatory for type-approvals since July 6, 2022.
As of this date, the approval and placing on the market of Heavy Commercial Vehicles (N2, N3, M2, and M3) will only be possible if the following requirements are met:
· Pedestrian and cyclist collision warning UN ECE Regulation No. 159
· Blind spot information system UN ECE Regulation No. 151
· Reverse warning UN ECE Regulation No. 158
· Intelligent speed assistance Regulation (EU) 2021/1958
· Alcohol interlock installation facilitation (EU) 2021/1243
· Driver drowsiness and attention warning Regulation (EU) 2021/1341
But here’s what many overlook: heavy trailers (O3 and O4) are also affected. They will require Tyre pressure monitoring according to UN ECE Regulation No. 141.
Stay compliant and keep your operations running smoothly by ensuring your vehicles meet these essential safety standards before the deadline hits!
